Legislative experience
Elected state Senator of the 21st District in 2014, Bryant Richardson serves on these committees: Senate Finance, Joint Finance, Veterans Affairs, Elections & Government Affairs and Agriculture. In addition he serves on committees and task forces between sessions. Senator Richardson has authored bills that come down hard against those involved in human trafficking and that combat the drug epidemic by teaching our youth about the dangers of experimenting with drugs. He also authored a bill that expands opportunities for TV and movie production.

Professional experience
Bryant and wife Carol started Morning Star Publications, Inc. in 1996.
 
the Seaford Star and Laurel Star community newspapers, the Morning Star Business Report, the Salisbury Star, biannual magazines for area chambers of commerce, and a number of specialty publications. Morning Star Publications, Inc., was started in April 1996. Former owner of Banner Publications, Inc. Former general manager of The Leader and State Register.

Volunteer service
Past president of the Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce, the Seaford Kiwanis Club, and the Western Sussex Citizens for Life. Former board member of Maranatha Manna and WOLC radio, the Delaware Tech Today and Tomorrow Conference Committee and a Seaford School District planning committee. Also served as Sunday School teacher and as an umpire for Nanticoke Little League.
 
Education
College courses and numerous seminars in business and journalism-related studies, but mostly self taught. Senator Richardson has a passion for learning about American history, especially the U.S. Constitution and related founding documents. 

Military service
Served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.

Awards
Small Business Administration Journalist of the Year for Delaware and Small Business Person of the Year for the Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce, multiple awards for writing and photography and editorial excellence.

Personal
Bryant and wife Carol attend Crossroad Community Church. They have three children.

Leanne is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in teaching.

Paul is a graduate of Liberty University and Regent University. 

Daniel is a graduate of the University of Delaware. 

Bryant and Carol have five grandchildren, Hannah, Hughie, Henry, Luke and Annie.

They also are long-time supporters of a child in Ethiopia through Childfund and of Delmarva Teen Challenge and the Delaware Family Policy Council.
